About Company Biography

I am taking a Masters Degree at The Oslo School of Architechture and Design.
with specialization in Product Design.
I will focus on ecological solutions for product design on my Masters Diploma.
This is my proffesional background:

My key values as an Ecologic Industrial Designer. Long lasting good quality is no excuse to use environmentally hazardous material in production. An example; Chromium; it makes extraordinary surfaces, and is widely used in furniture and faucets, or taps. Long lasting products are good, in the sense that they last longer. But eventually they do end up in the junkyard and later in nature. Accumulated Chromium has devastating consequences to organic life.

Even if one doesn’t believe in man-made cause to global warming, one must admit that polluting nature is a bad idea, causing severe problems locally and globally. Many argue that this is hysteria, but we must all agree that we appreciate fresh air and water, and that we have a personal responsibility in the matter.

A producer is responsible for their product thru its entire lifetime. Have you seen a cat chasing a small laser dot? It is an amusing sight. Many chase riches just like that cat, completely focused on one small dot in their reality; profit; thoughtless of the ecological and social consequences. As an industrial designer I want to create products responsibly. This is a great and complicated task, because there are so many aspects to it; production, logistics, and of course; waste. These are often part of great chains that are difficult to control.

Technology is good. It is probably true that if we all lived with less technology, we would be leaving a smaller ecological trace. But the problem is still not technological advance. The threat to nature and life is the plundering of non-renewable resources, overconsumption and irresponsible production chains. Designers and engineers have a key part in this advancement.

European Business Workshops in Inclusive Design 2012

48 hours, 135 participants, 14 nationalities, 200 years of combined Inclusive Design experience, 600 Post-it notes, 600 cups of coffee, and me among the visualizers. Yes I was given the privilege to be a visualizer, meaning an illustrator, maker of digital presentations and a design counselor for the groups. I was happiest for the illustrative part which turned out to be ONLY TEN MINUTES! But the seminars were very interesting and I got to meet a lot of interesting people there.

Industrial Design School project 1999An industrial Design Project for F.I.D.U in Hällefors

I accidently found this two slides of an old presentation of mine. The style, the technology is all severly outdated, which makes it extra cool. This design was made when Computer screens were Café Latte colored and shaped like you can see in the top right corner.

A funny anekdote was wit the styrofoam model in the bottom right corner of the first slide. It was cut out perfectly symmetric by the use of a template i made in paperboard. I was suposed to add plaster before I sprayed it with sprayingfiller and color, but I just wanted to sample the end result so I sprayed it with the blue color and it ate the styrofoam in amatter of seconds. That was quite an experience for me. I had to do all over again..

I got possitive critique in 2000 (or 1999) when I presented it in F.I.D.U, in Hällefors, Sweden.
